Madama Hostel & Bistrot: spaces designed for living and meeting
Hybrid spacesbetween hospitality and everyday use
Madama Hostel & Bistrot is a Milan-based space conceived as an open and informal place, where hospitality, food, and social life naturally intertwine. The project was developed with the idea of creating flexible environments, capable of welcoming different audiences and adapting to various moments and uses throughout the day.
Controprogetto contributed to shaping the spaces through the design and production of the furniture elements, developed in collaboration with students from the Evolvo project. Tables, seating, worktops, and structures were made using reclaimed materials: wood recovered from the building’s former windows and doors, reused wooden ladders, salvaged construction planks, and steel rods for lighting elements and structural components. These materials and processes were combined to create a coherent and recognizable design language.
