Bata: wall claddings for international retail spaces

Controprogetto was involved in the production of reclaimed-wood wall claddings for a series of Bata stores, working within a shared retail format replicated across multiple locations. The project included stores in Milan, Turin, Rome, Paris, and Valencia, maintaining formal and material consistency while adapting to the specific dimensions and layouts of each space.

The intervention focused on the creation of clad surfaces made through the selection and reworking of reclaimed woods, assembled according to defined and recognizable patterns. The cladding thus becomes a consistent architectural element within the stores, capable of characterizing the retail space without relying on standard decorative solutions. A project that demonstrates how material and craftsmanship can be integrated into a retail context, maintaining quality, identity, and attention to detail even on an international scale.
