An open system that shapes the space

An open system that shapes the space

This project was conceived as a modular furnishing structure designed to inhabit the space with lightness and precision. The steel grid establishes a constant, almost architectural rhythm, onto which reclaimed wood surfaces, worked in an essential manner, are integrated. The result does not define a single piece of furniture, but rather a domestic landscape made of solids and voids, supports and suspensions, accompanying everyday life without imposing a rigid function or a single interpretation.

The reclaimed wood, left expressive in its imperfections and chromatic variations, dialogues with the linearity of the metal, creating a balance between material memory and contemporary design. The system is conceived to be reconfigured over time, adapting to different needs and contexts. An intervention that shows how Controprogetto’s bespoke furnishings—often created for retail spaces and temporary installations—can naturally extend into private residences, transforming design flexibility and material reuse into a true quality of living.

The different levels create a sense of suspension that defines the space.

The bookcase is defined by its extreme lightness and a dynamic, irregular design.

Completing the furnishing is a bookcase made with large solid wood planks.
